Installing Wallpaper

Taking a plain white wall and spicing it up with personal style and creativity is a great way to get a room to reflect a desired feel and décor. A wonderful way to do it is by installing wallpaper. You have the option of installing it yourself or hiring a professional to do the job for you.

There are so many unique wall coverings to select from. Wallpaper gives you the opportunity to give each room its own identity, without having to bother with complex painting techniques. You also have the choice of replacing old wall coverings to accommodate to new surroundings and people.

Before selecting wallpaper, it is always a good idea to consider who will be occupying the space and what overall mood you want expressed. For example, a child's play room and the kitchen need to be identified with separate wall coverings because each space represents a unique mood. Printed patterns are great way to distinguish rooms.

You will also need to consider the condition of your wall before applying a wall covering. If you feel that your wall contains several small holes and other imperfections, you may want to paste a liner over your wall. Liners help to hide imperfections and also make the removal process easier.

Types of Wallpaper:

• Printed Patterns
• Un-backed Fabric
• Paper Backed Fabric
• Raised Texture (Relief)
• Raised Felt (Flock)
• Vinyl Coated
• Solid Vinyl
• Grass Cloth/ Burlap
• Cork-faced
• Foil (shows imperfections)
