Bathroom Flooring

Once you have successfully decided on your new bathroom design, the challenging decisions arise. It is now time to start selecting surface materials, most importantly your flooring options. The flooring in your bathroom must be moisture-tolerant and should also be easy to clean and maintain. Options include sheet vinyl, vinyl tiles, vinyl composite tile, ceramic tile, travertine, carpet, hardwood, and stone. It is important to keep on eye on flooring cost because finishing materials demand a major portion of the budget of a bathroom remodeling project.

Vinyl and laminate tile flooring are the least expensive of flooring options. Above all materials, tile may be one of your most difficult decisions solely due to the vast amount of styles, colors, and sizes to choose from. With today's designs, larger tiles are becoming more and more popular; however, they also require the underlayment to be very level. Mosaic tiles, one inch tiles, are another break through in bathroom designs. Mosaics come in countless colors and allow you to create your own custom floor design.

In addition to materials, styles and colors, today's technology also offers you the choice of having warming strips installed underneath your new tile or marble floor. They use very little electricity and will chase away the shivers in the morning. Heated flooring is an amazing luxury to enhance your bathroom experience.
